Retraction & Withdrawal Policy

Jurnal Ada Pustaka: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. Once an article has been published, it is considered part of the permanent academic literature and should remain available whenever possible. However, under exceptional circumstances involving serious ethical, legal, or scholarly concerns, articles may be withdrawn, corrected, retracted, or removed.

This policy follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines.

Article Withdrawal and Retraction

Requests for article withdrawal or retraction may originate from the author(s), the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, reviewers, the publisher, or the author's affiliated institution.

Any decision to withdraw or retract an article will be made only after careful investigation and in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics.

Whenever an article is retracted, a formal Retraction Notice will be published to explain the reason for the retraction. The original article will no longer be regarded as part of the valid scientific record and should not be cited as reliable research evidence.

Grounds for Article Retraction

An article may be retracted under one or more of the following circumstances:

  • Evidence of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or redundant publication.
  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data or results.
  • Serious violations of research ethics or publication ethics.
  • False authorship claims or undisclosed authorship disputes.
  • Major errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.
  • Copyright infringement or unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
  • Submission of fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive information.
  • Any other form of scientific misconduct that compromises the integrity of the published work.

Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript before publication only for legitimate academic or ethical reasons. Once an article has been accepted and scheduled for publication, withdrawal requests will be considered only under exceptional circumstances.

Forms of Editorial Action

Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, Jurnal Ada Pustaka: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran may take one or more of the following actions:

Manuscript Withdrawal (Before Publication)

If a serious ethical issue is identified before publication, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the editorial process, and the corresponding author will receive an official notification from the Editor-in-Chief.

Article Retraction (After Publication)

If misconduct or serious errors are discovered after publication, the article will remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record. However, every page of the PDF version will be clearly marked with the watermark "RETRACTED", and a Retraction Notice explaining the reasons for the retraction will be published alongside the article.

Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum)

If the error does not invalidate the scientific findings, the journal may publish an Erratum or Corrigendum to correct the published record while maintaining the original article.

Expression of Concern

If an investigation is ongoing and conclusive evidence has not yet been established, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers of potential issues affecting the article.

Article Removal

Complete removal of a published article is considered only in exceptional legal circumstances.

An article may be removed if it is found to:

  • Violate applicable laws or court orders.
  • Contain defamatory or libelous material.
  • Infringe copyright or other legal rights.
  • Disclose confidential or sensitive information unlawfully.
  • Pose a significant threat to public safety or national security.

In such cases, the article metadata will remain publicly available, while the full text will be replaced by a notice explaining that the article has been removed for legal reasons.

Article Replacement

If an article contains serious but correctable errors that substantially affect the reliability of the publication, the authors may submit a corrected version for editorial consideration.

If approved, the corrected article will replace the previous version while preserving a transparent publication history. The journal will provide clear links between the original publication, the correction, and the revised version.

Investigation Procedure

All allegations of publication misconduct will be investigated fairly, confidentially, and objectively by the Editorial Board.

The investigation may involve communication with the corresponding author, co-authors, reviewers, affiliated institutions, or other relevant parties. Editorial decisions will be based on the available evidence and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Publication Fee Policy

Jurnal Ada Pustaka: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran does not charge any submission fee or Article Processing Charge (APC).

Because publication in this journal is completely free of charge, there are no publication fees associated with article withdrawal, correction, or retraction.
