Generative AI Policy

Jurnal Ada Pustaka: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran establishes this policy to ensure that the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the writing, review, and publication of scholarly articles is conducted ethically, transparently, and in accordance with accepted academic standards.

  1. Purpose of the Policy

This policy aims to provide clear guidance on the responsible use of Generative AI tools in scholarly publishing and to safeguard academic integrity, originality, and accountability throughout all stages of the publication process.

  1. Scope

This policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and other contributors engaged in the preparation, evaluation, and publication of manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ada Pustaka: Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran.

  1. Principles of Generative AI Use

Generative AI may be used only as a supportive tool and must not replace the author's academic competence, critical thinking, or scholarly responsibility. The use of AI must not violate publication ethics, compromise originality, or produce fabricated, misleading, or invalid information. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, and integrity of all content submitted to the journal.

  1. Permitted Uses of Generative AI

Generative AI may be used to improve grammar, spelling, and academic writing style, generate non-substantive summaries that do not alter the scientific meaning of the manuscript, assist in preparing an initial outline or manuscript structure, and support textual analysis provided that it does not manipulate, fabricate, or misrepresent research data or findings.

  1. Prohibited Uses of Generative AI

Generative AI must not be used to generate research data, simulations, experimental results, or empirical findings that are not based on original research. AI must not be used to produce an entire manuscript without substantial intellectual contribution from the author, fabricate citations, references, quotations, or other scholarly sources, or engage in plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or any other form of academic misconduct.

  1. Disclosure of AI Use

Authors are required to disclose any use of Generative AI tools in the Acknowledgments or Author's Note section of the manuscript. An example disclosure statement is as follows:

"The authors used a Generative AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT) in a limited capacity for language editing purposes without affecting the scientific content of this article."

  1. Ethical Responsibility

Authors must ensure that the use of Generative AI complies with applicable copyright laws, respects data privacy and confidentiality, and adheres to accepted standards of research and publication ethics.

  1. Actions for Policy Violations

Violations of this policy may result in editorial actions, including requests for revision, rejection of the manuscript, or retraction of a published article if a violation is identified after publication.

  1. Policy Review and Updates

This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in Generative AI technologies, international publication ethics, and best practices in scholarly publishing.
